My husband, the body builder

So my husband now has the idea in his head that he is FAT. Oh goodness, the boy couldn’t be fat if he “Supersized Me” his whole life. But I guess he just means he is in worse shape than he was in his college days. I must say he was a physical specimen back then, but he is just as handsome now. Regardless of what I say, the boy is on a workout kick. Which is always a good thing, I have been trying to get back into my workout routine this last month or so myself so now we can do it together! Look out for the new and improved TYNERS!!

Oh I have the cutest story. Justin has been mentoring a 13 year old boy named Joey through Big Brothers/Big Sisters. He is a really sweet kid that gets so excited when justin calls that he stutters uncontrollably. Well, every Monday Justin works his 12 hour day as usual at work and then drives 45 minutes straight from work and picks up Joey. They get some dinner and go do fun activities, like movies, go carts, arcades, etc. Then Justin drives Joey back home, has to visit with his grandparents a little bit (that is who Joey lives with). And then makes the long drive back home. He is never home before 10:30. It really wears him out but he wants so badly to help Joey that he keeps at it. Well lately, Justin has been really stressed…….about sooo many things. He doesn’t have time for ANYTHING, hardly me even it seems. So he decided that he would talk to Joey and Big Brothers/Big Sisters and try to get Joey a new big brother, Justin still wanted to see Joey at least once a month, but he feels he can’t put the time into it that Joey really needs. So he goes to talk to the organization yesterday and they inform him that if he were to back out, Joey would not be paired with anyone else…….because Justin was Joey’s third big brother, and there is some kind of limits and what not. Anyway, there is NO way Justin could do that to him in the first place. But then the lady started telling Justin how Joey has progressed while he has been mentoring him. He is enrolled in all honors classes for school next year, he was flunking before. His grandparents have seen a difference in his attitude, and he told the coordinator he wanted to join the Golf team……….this is a little borderline Gothic kid, who has never picked up a golf club, nor watched a golf match in his life, but you know who is an avid golfer??? Justin! Justin didn’t know Joey had said he wanted to do this, that was the first time he had heard that news. And his heart sank because he KNEW why Joey wanted to play on the golf team. Heck, when Justin and him go out to eat, he always makes Justin order first, and then orders the EXACT same thing, everytime. You never know how much influence you have, you never really do. So needless to say, Justin is sticking with it. It’s so hard on him I know. So please pray for God to place a calmness in his spirit and release the extra stress this may bring. One day he’ll have a jewel in his crown for the time he spends with Joey……..

On another note, here is a poem Chrissy sent me written by Judge Roy Moore. He lived right down the street from me in good ‘ol Bama. Some of you may be wondering what Judge Roy Moore has been doing since he was removed from the bench for refusing to remove the 10 Commandments from his courtroom wall. Please read the poem he wrote below. Judge Moore was sued by the ACLU for displaying the Ten Commandments in his courtroom foyer. He has been stripped of his judgeship and now they are trying to strip his right to practice law in Alabama. The judge's poem sums it up quite well.
America the Beautiful,
or so you used to be.
Land of the Pilgrims' pride;
I'm glad they'll never see.

Babies piled in dumpsters,
Abortion on demand,
Oh, sweet land of liberty;
your house is on the sand.

Our children wander aimlessly
poisoned by cocaine,
Choosing to indulge their lusts,
when God has said abstain.

From sea to shining sea,
our Nation turns away
From the teaching of God's love
and a need to always pray.

We 've kept God in our temples,
how callous we have grown.
When earth is but His footstool,
and Heaven is His throne.

We've voted in a government
that's rotting at the core,
Appointing Godless Judges
who throw reason out the door,

Too soft to place a killer
in a well deserved tomb,
But brave enough to kill a baby
before he leaves the womb.

You think that God's not angry,
that our land's a moral slum?
How much longer will He wait
before His judgment comes?

How are we to face our God,
from Whom we cannot hide?
What then is left for us to do,
but stem this evil tide?

If we who are His children,
will humbly turn and pray;
Seek His holy face
and mend our evil way:

Then God will hear from Heaven
and forgive us of our sins,
He'll heal our sickly land
and those who live within.

But, America the Beautiful,
if you don't - then you will see,
A sad but Holy God
withdraw His hand from Thee.
Judge Roy Moore
